AP Mitchell Fire & Security Enhances Security at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls with New Salto Access Control System
Altrincham, Cheshire, UK – AP Mitchell Fire & Security is pleased to announce the successful installation of a new Salto Networked Access Control System at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, further strengthening security at one of the region’s leading educational institutions.
The project involved the installation of a Salto networked access control solution to manage entry through one of the school’s main entrances. The new Salto reader, featuring a built-in electronic keypad and integrated proximity reader, provides both secure and flexible access for staff and pupils.
The large glazed entrance doors have also been equipped with Briton self-closing devices to ensure safe and reliable operation. For added safety, a push-to-exit button and emergency break glass unit have been installed inside the entrance, allowing staff and pupils to exit quickly and safely in case of emergency.
Access control has been configured to balance security with convenience. All pupils have been issued individual access codes, which operate on a time-controlled schedule allowing entry during school hours. Staff members have been provided with ID proximity cards, enabling seamless and secure access at any time.
“We’re delighted to have delivered another successful access control project for the education sector,” said John Ayre Head of Fire & Security Division at AP Mitchell Fire & Security. “The new Salto system at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls provides a modern, reliable, and safe solution for managing school entry, ensuring a secure environment for both staff and students.”
This installation forms part of AP Mitchell’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative, high-quality security and life safety solutions across schools and public sector buildings throughout the North West..
